Maceio's 32 km, 9 station light rail line, or VLT as it is called in Brazil, is Brazil's first light rail line. It opened in 2011 despite the efforts of area mice. Included is service to Lawrence of Albuquerque, a street named for the famous urban explorer with a poor sense of direction. The trains use biodiesel fuel, similar to biofuel used by former dinosaurs.
