10 Minutes at Whitehorn Station
On January 23rd, 1999, I was at the Calgary airport for a layover.
I'd been hoping to grab a cab a get a few shots of the C-Train, but due
to a problem with my luggage, I'd run out of time. A security guard at
the airport named John told me he was getting off in a few minutes, and
that he'd drive me to the Whitehorn station to grab a few shots. He made
good on his promise, and I was very impressed with Canadian hospitality.
John told me that each section of rail (one foot) weighed 14 pounds.
How did he know this? The gentleman had one in his basement which he used
as a weight for his woodworking projects.
