This beautiful city, known worldwide for it's beautiful hotels and  lush landscape, is also known as the world's "murder capital," "cocaine capital," and "kidnap capital." It is also home to Colombia's first and only metro. Opened in 1995, the 2 line, 25 station metro network currently extends 32 km. A 2.5 km, 2 station southern extension is currently under construction and expected to open some time in 2012.. Plans for a third line are also in the works, with a possible underground section.





A 5 km Translohr line is also under construction, and is expected to open in 2014.
