Liberec, located in Bohemia, is known as the City of Sport. The system sports a series of Tatras in a variety of liveries, some street running, and some on private ROW, including a run through a forest. The 21 km system opened in 1897.
A new 12 km light rail line to Jablonec, a Karlsruhe-like LRT converted from an interurban line, is partially open and is expected to be completed in 2007. The line will be extended to Harrachov and Zittau in Germany by 2010.
