Opened in 1888, the Tallinn trollide, operated by the Tallinn Tram and Trolleybus Company, consists of 4 lines using Tatras and cars from Ehfurt, Germany. All four lines meet at Viru Center at the Hobujaama stop. Most of Tallin's system is street-running, with some on separate right-of-ways. There are currently no plans to establish a metro, though a regional rail ine to a large Baltic island, Saaremaa. Some argue that the line should be light rail. Construction has not yet begun.
