A 2.9
km rope funicular railway built in 1988 is known as the Arc en Ciel
Railway. Looking very much like a light rail line, the line serves a
village of low income rental homes. There is no skiing at this altitude, and so this is not a skiing railway as one might first think. Other links say otherwise. Hmmmmm.
The railway is a rarity in funiculars in that the first station is at a 0 degree gradient.
