Subway (Metro),
Interurban, tram
Metro, light rail
Tolouse, known as the "pink city", open it's first rubber tired VAL based metro in 1993. It has 2 lines, 27.5 km and
37 stations, most of which are underground. Two 5 km extensions are
under study.
Interurban

Line C on Tolouse's metro network is a 6.8 km commuter line connecting Arènes
with Colomiers. It opened in 2003.

Tramway (known cryptically as Line E)
A 10.9 km tramway (affectionately known as T1) opened in December, 2010. The tram connects Line A of the metro with Line C, a so-called "tram train" The rolling stock, designed by Airbus, will enable an easier grounding when a traction motor happens to fall off the train. Two more lines are in the late planning stages, including an extension to T1 and a line to the airport.
As always, remember to exercise caution when approaching the tram.
