Bad Schandau
tramway

This 8 km, 9 station rural tramway known as the Kirnitzschtalbahn opened in1898. It connects the city park of Bad Schaundau on the river Elbe, located in an area known as the Switzerland of Saxony, with the Lichtenhainer Waterfall, a popular tourist attraction. In between the street running in each city, the line operates as a sort of interurban along the side of connecting roads. The Kirnitzchtalbahn uses old Gotha vehicles and receives about a third of it's power from solar cells from it's depot.
