In 1931, the Philadelphia and Western rebuilt their track for high speed operation and took delivery of ten light weigh, streamlined cars from the J.G. Brill Company. Soon named Bullets, five were still in service when this tape was made in 1988 and 1989. Eight hours of footage were edited to recreate the 14 mile high speed run from 69th Street to Norristown.
This tape has no narration: just a soundtrack as we see the varied and intense activity at 69th Street. Then the soundtrack belongs to the four 100 hp traction motors in high quality biaural stereo.
Full colour, 19 minutes.
