November 2009 - DMRC has just finished soil testing and is waiting for the go ahead opn this new project. DMRC has found that the soil is of an earthy hue and contained rocks, dirt, and large quantities of organic matter.

Plans call for a two line subway system: a 14 km north-south line connecting the airport with Munshipulia, and a 27 km east-west line connecting Gomti Nagar with Rajajipuram.
