Tabriz Light metro under construction

Tabriz (1.2 mill. inh.) is the centre of north western Iran. An east-west metro line is under construction, passing underneath the historical quarters of the city. The first phase with 6 kms is planned to open at the end of the Iranian year (March 21) and is predicted to carry 20 000 Passengers per hour in both directions.
