The 13.7 km automated light metro has 5.9 km below ground (8
stations), with the remaining at grade and on a viaduct. Three of the 18
stations will be above ground. Construction began in 2002 and the line opened in December 2009. A further extension of 14k m with 15 stations is planned
to serve the Trompia Valley.
