The Ferrovia Adriatico-Sangritana is one of many Italian private railways. Have a look at the BS Photo and I'm sure the phrase "LRV" pops into one's mind. The scenic 2 line interurban runs 103 km from San Vito on the Adriatic coast through the mountains, mostly following the quaintly named River Sangro, or, River of Blood.
