Subway under construction, people mover

No, it's not an underground gondola on rails. And its not a sandwich restaurant in California. I's a real lagoon subway, very much like the one we used to watch weekly on Gilligan's Island. The underground railway, or "Sublagunare",  is expected to serve Venice and the surrounding area, including the airport. The line has already been approved but the technology is still under debate. Emergency boots and scuba gear will be located in each car. Roast pigeon concessions are expected to cover operating expenses.

Peoplemover

An 857 meter Dopplemeyer peoplemover is due to open in February 2010. It will connect an office park with the main island. The project is cosponsored by Funivie, an Italian funicular group that put the 'Fun' in funicular.
