According to this official site, a 24.9 km, 13 station light rail line has been authorized by the  Mauritius government. A second line has also been proposed.

The system will use Parry People Movers. While the project appears likely going to be moving forward soon in 2003, it has been in the negotiating and development stages since about 1997.
