Light Rail subway, funicular subway

Opened in 1991, Monterrey's subway has 2 lines, 23.5 km, and 25 stations. Line 1 is completely elevated, while Line 2 is completely in subway. A 6.4 km extension to line 2 includes 5 km of elevated track and 5 stations. Four lines with a total of 80 track km are planned by the year 2008.
