Monterrey
Light Rail subway

Opened in 1991, Monterrey's subway has 2 lines, 31 km, and 32 stations. Line 1 is completely elevated, while Line 2 is partially in subway, with 5 km of elevated track and 5 stations. Four lines with a total of 80 track km are planned by the year 2008. I mean 2010. I mean, uhm,...

In 2013 the new Mexican president expressed his commitment to mass transit, mentioning Line 3. Just a month later, the government announed it's commitment to build the nine station, 7.5 km line  Ground was broken in October 2013, Except for a short interchange with Line 2, the new line will be elevated.

When riding the Monterrey metro, you may wonder, "who farted?" You'd be surprised to learn that it was the train, which runs on methane.
