Wellington cable railway Wellington's only claim to urban transport fame is a .6 km cable railway. Tranz Rail has in the past indicated an interest in being part of a proposed LRT that would run over "the old" Johnsonville line into downtown Courtney Place, with another possible extension to Wellington International Airport.
