Cadiz / San Fernando
light metro in planning

Try telling one a Cadiz resident that they don't have a real metro and you'll get a flurry of excitedresponses, none of them pleasant. RENFE recently upgraded its route terminus in Cadiz to an 8 km tunnel. The line, referred to by the locals as the metro, is used to move around the metro area. So, whats all this about a metro.

According to a report on Skyscraper City, Tranvia Baja de Cadiz will use the RENFE underground section as well as its own overground sections, and will include two lines, both of which are currently under construction. Nearby San Fernando is already in the planing stages of their own tranvia, la Tranvia de la Isla. Cadiz's line two, which will connect Cadiz with the city of Jerez, will also connect with Jerez's new, independant tram network which is also under construction.
