 Cercedilla interurban Cercedilla lies to the North of Madrid. Many former city dwellers have made their homes here, though they still work in Madrid. In 2007 the main railwaystation was put in tunnel, whose plans include a fuure light rail line. Currently the area is served by an 11 km electric tramway, more of an interurban, which connects the town with nearvy Puerto de Cotos. It opened in 1923 and is called line C-9.
