Luzern (Lucerne)
interurban tramway

Lucerne's last tramway line closed in 1961. Currently the city operates a regiosprinter-like service using FLIRT trains and is known as the Zentralbahn. probably because it is zentrally lokated.

Luzern also runs a standard gauge electric railway known as the "
Seetalbahn" (Lake Valley Railroad). Originally built as an interurban tramway, this line has the worst safety record of all Swiss Federal railways, probably because of the manu unmarked railway crossings.
