Luzern (Lucerne)
interurban tramway
Lucerne's last tramway line closed in 1961. Currently the city operates a regiosprinter-like service using FLIRT trains and is known as the Zentralbahn. probably because it is zentrally lokated.
Luzern also runs a standard gauge electric railway known as the "Seetalbahn" (Lake Valley Railroad). Originally built as an interurban tramway, this line has the worst safety record of all Swiss Federal railways,
probably because of the manu unmarked railway crossings.
