Osamu's Kaohsiung Metro page

The first line of Kaohsung's automated metro opened in 2009.  There are two lines covering 40.4 km of track. A 2 line, 43 km system is under construction and due to open in 2007.  Line 1, the "Red Line", consists  of 28 km and 24 stations, 19.8 km of which is underground. Line 2, the "Orange Line", has 14 stations along a 14 km route, all of which are underground except for one.. Two additional lines and several extensions to the first two lines are now in the planning stages.

Kaohsiung is also planning two light rail lines, totaling 17 km and 32 stations.
