LRT subway

A 23 station, 20.6 km two line subway was been under construction for many years in this city which was once the capital of the Ottoman empire. Part of the line's history goes back to an 1870's Ottoman steam railway. The system opened in 2001 and will eventually be 55 km long, built in 4 phases. In the first phase, 3.7 km and 3 stations will be underground.
