Kriviy Rih LRT subway Opened in 1986, this 18 km LRT has 6.9 km underground and  2 lines, one of which is really just a small spur. The line was originally supposed to be a full metro but was changed to light rail when the former CSU state's economy took a dive. There are 4 underground stations, with a few tunnels on the line's north end. The lines are completely separated by tall concrete walls in the inimitable warm Stalinist style reminiscent of Martha Stewart's country cottage.  The tunnels run one on top of the other, so rolling stock with one-side doors are used.
