Other than a few museums, there are no light rail or subway lines in Connectucut. The Hartfort light rail line has changed to a busway. A system for Stamford is still under consideration after a
recent study's recommendation, and the Hartford suburb of Middletown is seriously contemplating a streetcar.

In July 2010, the
Transport Politic in an article titled Streetcar Wars, wrote about streetcar plans for Stamford and New Haven. Despite not having federal funds for these projects right now, these cities are seriously considering starter lines - a mile mile line in New Haven and a five mile starer line in Stamford.
