When it comes to public transit, Texas is probably one of the most misunderstood regions in the United States. In a place where sprawl is king and the love affair with the automobile retains it's undomesticated passion, there are more rail goodies than a swarm of June bugs on a dead cat at the lake in July.
Cities that are considering light rail or streetcars include Corpus Christi, El Paso, San Antonio, Waco and McAllen-Edinburgh in the Rio Grande Valley.
