Home to the largest pot of soup, and the most Miss World title holders, Venezuela is building out its subways at a decent rate, though several cities are still found wanting. 

It is often asked what Chavez does with all the oil millions the country rakes in. The answer may be he builds new metros. A light rail line is also planned for San Cristobal, but construction has yet to materielize. Other cities with planned but still dormant metro systems include Anzoátegu (Puerto La Cruz) and Maracay, a monorail in San Cristobal and  light rail in Cabimas.
