Marcaibo's metro, also known as the Metro del Sol Amado, opened the first stage of it's 9.4 km Line 1 in November 2006. The remainder of the line is under construction and includes three underground stops  Lines 2 and 3 are in the planning stages and are expected to comprise a 60 km network.
