The first section of what is called a four line system opened in
November, 2006. The line is currently10.5 km long, of which
4.7 km are underground. There are 13 stations.
Like the Caracas metro, Lines 2 and 3 are
actually sections of Line 1 but are identified as two seperate lines.
Once complete, they will form one continuous line and will become part
of Line 1, losing their identity and becoming one with the whole. This
is known as the needs of the one outweighing the needs of the many.
Valencia metro's coaches may seem a bit familiar. If so, that may
because they are the popular Siemens rolling stock used for many
cities, such as St. Louis' Metrolink service.
